Fun Things to Do in Far North Dallas

Our second ever Campisi’s Restaurant location sits at the intersection of Coit and Campbell in Far North Dallas. We opened this little Italian restaurant in 1993, and we’re amazed at how much the area has changed since then.

Over the past two decades, Plano, Frisco, Addison, and the other surrounding areas have grown immensely. While Far North Dallas is admittedly not well-known for an abundance of green space, you don’t have to travel all the way to Austin or San Antonio to experience some real Texas fun. There’s plenty to do right here in our own community.

Here are some of our favorite things to do in Far North Dallas!

1. Southfork Ranch

For thirteen years and over 350 episodes, Southfork Ranch was home to the legendary TV show, Dallas. You can tour the mansion, see the gun that shot J.R., or go on a horse trail ride.

2. Adventure Landing

This place is a kid’s paradise. With miniature golf, go-karts, laser tag, bumper boats, and batting cages, an entire day of fun with the family could never be easier.

3. Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve

For a welcome escape from the suburbs, take a trip to the 800-acre Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve. You can’t swim in the water, but there are over 8 miles of hiking trails, kayaks, and pavilions for gatherings.

4. The Galleria

Have you gone ice-skating yet this winter? Head to the Galleria Dallas! There are over 200 stores and restaurants, plus a magnificent glass vaulted ceiling modeled after an historic building in Milan, Italy.

5. LOOK Cinemas

If you’re a movie lover, the best place to see a movie in North Dallas is at LOOK Cinemas. The reclining seats are extremely comfortable, the screens present the film in high quality, and some of the theaters even offer wait service.
